Colomitos Snorkeling & Hiking Combo
Hike to Colomitos enchanting cove and then cool off while snorkeling! Located on the South side of Bahía de Banderas, Colomitos still remains undiscovered by most. This beautiful little cove is a real treasure and well worth the hike to get there. In fact, the hike is easy enough for anyone to enjoy, approximately 1 mile each way.
The path follows the coastline at the bottom of the Sierras and passes under the canopy of beautiful Plumerias, Palms and Strangling Ficuses. Occasionally, Iguanas can be seen running across the path. Inhabiting the lower regions of these mountains, just to name a few, are Red Foxes, Armadillos, Skunks, Raccoons, and Mountain Crabs. Along this path, you may witness termite nests of impressive size and the unique and precarious looking nest of the Yellow-winged Cacique.
Once at Colomitos cove we’ll go snorkeling amongst many colorful tropical fishes found in that area like King Angels, Panamic Sergeant Majors, some puffer fishes, eels, and many others.
Before starting our hike back we’ll enjoy a picnic style lunch at the beautiful golden sand beach.
