Hiking in the Sierra Madre
Discover the beauty of the Sierra Madre! Our adventure begins in the low lands of the Sierra Madre and slowly we’ll start to gain altitude, surrounded by the magnificent deciduous tropical forest, with its huge trees like figs, paper trees, and sand box trees, among many others.
The trail leads us by the Cuale River, which sometimes we’ll cross. As we gain altitude the views of the Sierra Madre will captivate you as well as the songs of the great variety of birds that inhabit this area.
After approximately hour and a half of hiking, we’ll reach our goal: a beautiful waterfall and a cave. Here we’ll enjoy a well deserved lunch before starting our hike back.
This is an intermediate rate, 4 hr. long hike, Involves walking up steep mountain trails and descents.
Itinerary
• 8:15 am - Meet at Happy Go grocery store in Nuevo Vallarta (in front to Marlin de Tepic restaurant)
• 8:30 am - Meet at Ecotours marina office in Marina Vallarta (Proa loc. 20)
• 9:00 am - Meet at Ecotours office in Down town. (Ignacio L. Vallarta #243)
• 11:00 am - Continue our hiking up to the cave.
• 2:00 pm - Return to Puerto Vallarta.
